Welcome to our first newsletter! We are excited to share all the happenings going on here at the farm. July looks to be an exciting month here at Cedar Oak Farms with many changes in the works.
As always, The Wacky Spoon and Cedar Oak Farms will work closely with one another, but we have decided that the market which includes TWS spice line deserves its own website. The Wacky Spoon will continue to serve up great recipes using Cedar Oak Farms fresh produce and herbs. For great recipes be sure to follow their website.
Here at Cedar Oak Farms, we will concentrate on creating quality products, and spreading the word of our work. This is where the e-commence store will reside and where you will come to order all the spices you have come to love.
Our new marketing manager, Jen Hood! Jen graduated with a marketing degree from Millikin University and offers several years of experience. She is working on new marketing strategies and is excited to share them with you in upcoming newsletters.
We will be sending out monthly newsletters to keep everyone informed of new products, events, and the goings-on on the farm. Summer 2019 Cultivate Crate:
TWS Steak Seasoning has been chosen for the Summer 2019 Cultivate Crate and will be going out June 28, 29th. If you are a subscriber and will be receiving the crate, please let me know what you think of the spice blend. Their mission is to connects subscriber to homegrown women-owned and operated small businesses in the Champaign-Urbana area and beyond. We are excited to be included in this summer’s crate and to be added to an A-list of other women entrepreneurs.
We are always creating new spice blends and flavored salts and are excited to be introducing four new salts that will be available on August 1, 2019. Here is a peek at what we have cooking.
- Black Truffle Salt – a robust earthy salt that can be sprinkled on foods as a finish touch. It goes great on fries, popcorn, and eggs.
- Teriyaki Salt – infused with the tangy sweet bite of teriyaki and ginger it creates a memorable finish to many foods. Try it on chicken, tofu, fried rice and many more.
- Cherrywood Smoked Salt – adds drama to your dishes with a clean slightly sweet salt that has been roasted in smoked cherrywood. Goes well with meats, poultry, seafood, roasted vegetables, salads, and potatoes.
- Chili Lime Salt – made with cocktails in mind it adds a spicy sweet element to your salt rimmed cocktails, but it is also perfect with salsas, tacos, and Mexican corn.
